About the Project The Holy Monastery of Saint Savvas the Sanctified also known as the Great Laura is the oldest and perhaps most well-known monastery in Palestine. It is located about 20 kilometers S.W. of Jerusalem and is built into a steep hill at the west end of the Kidron Valley. The monastery has existed for 1,500 years since it was established by Saint Savvas in 483 A.D. The Monstery needed to produce a prayer book in Arabic Language for the pilgrims attending the Feast of Saint Savvas every year. The project was carried out in cooperation with the team who translated the book from the Greek language and the monastery itself. The Design was inspired by the Orthodox prayer books with some special ornaments. The front cover design contains the icon of the saint that depicts his life and the back cover design was made from a drawing by one of the pilgrims who visited the monastery St-Savvas-cover-01 St-Savvas-inside-01 Free_Book_Mockup_3 Free_Book_Mockup_5
